I’ve gotten out of bed on my own over 26,000 times. It’s only recently that I’ve been wondering whether I do it right.
I instituted a new wake-up system recently. I’m not at the point of personally recommending it to anyone, but I believe it’s made a difference in my mornings.
The trick is to stay in bed. Don’t get out. Immediately, that is.
While I lie in bed, I say out loud, “I’m going to be happy my first hour, no matter how darn hard it might be.” I repeat this a second time.
Then, I get up, have a cup of coffee with cream and pet my dogs. Ahhh…
Now, I’m better prepared to take on hour two.
