I believe I should continue a lifelong habit well into my 70s: failure.
Failure has been my pathway to success and happiness over my many years. As a kid, I failed at being the starting quarterback. Several girls I wished to date, politely informed me of their lack of interest. A few years later, The University of Illinois requested that I discontinue the pursuit of my Accounting Degree. Over the decades, I started nearly a dozen corporations. A number of them went upside down in a hurry.
In all of these cases, I came out the other side a wiser and stronger person. I learned to accept failure with gusto, because I realized success was one step closer.
Here is one of my most recent failures:
After two years, I finally gave up writing my book on aging gracefully. In the failed process, I learned that aging isn’t always graceful, and now I’m joyously Aging on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
