I’m accepting change.
My age and medical condition qualify me for being at high risk for the coronavirus. It’s like moving up to the front of the class for special recognition. Many people are telling me what to do – or more accurately, what not to do.
Here are a couple tips that are working for me:
I make a list in the morning of all the things I can accomplish that day while being quarantined to my house. Throughout the day, I glance at the list and cherry-pick the activities that suit my mood. What’s left over begins my list the following morning.
I get up and exercise for five minutes every hour. That might mean going up and down the stairs five times, going outside for a loop around the house with my dogs, or scrubbing the bathroom floor (I haven’t yet chosen to scrub the bathroom floor).
I’m paying more attention to preparing what I eat, then sitting at the kitchen table and eating it mindfully. Food has never been a big thing for me in the past, so this is a brand new adventure and I’m kind of enjoying it.
I’m writing an original joke each day. So far, they are terrible.
What are you up to?
