We all go on two types of journeys in our lifetimes.
The first uses bicycles, automobiles, boats and airplanes to transport us from one spot to another. Sometimes we take photographs to show our friends (not always a good idea).
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we have more opportunities today to explore and enjoy the second type of journey. It takes us inside our mind and spirit. I’ll bet unimagined treasures are waiting inside for us.
Like many of you, I’ve been on this journey for some time. Most of my friends think I’m a little flaky anyway, so I figured I had nothing to lose in better understanding what makes me me.
If you are on such a trip, I’d love to know how it’s going for you. Tips would be nice.
I have three to throw out there for any new adventurers:
1. Take several accomplished guides with you. I chose many experts, with Carl Jung as my lead guide. Entering the world of my subconscious, I struggled to keep up with any of them. I thought several of these master guides had gotten lost in their own ego trips. I fired them.
2. Take your time. Receive pleasure from your journey of self-understanding. Don’t try too hard. Let it come to you.
3. It’s your journey. Don’t bore others with your personal revelations.
Footnote: Tip three came from my wife.
