Over the last 15 years or so of running The Change Companies, I often went back to asking myself: what is “The One Big Thing” I need to focus on? Above all else, what should capture the majority of my time for this day or for this year? This strategy often worked. It became one of the guiding principles of my corporate leadership.
Now retired, I thought I’d give “The One Big Thing” a shot. Without the structure of a job, what will I focus on? What’s the driver that should help determine my time and energy?
So far, I’m failing. I can’t come up with one. It appears as if I have five or six kind of’s. No single thing pops out.
Help me. Do you have “The One Big Thing” in your life today?
