One of my favorite artists is Simon Bull. He feeds me beauty each day. He opens my creative mind in ways I could never do on my own.
Here is what Simon wrote in 2001.
“Each one of us carries some special gift. We all have contributions to make. For me, it happens to be art and I speak through the medium of painting. I’m just one of many thousands of artists in this generation, linked with all the generations gone by. Something ties us together – who knows what exactly and who knows why – but I am blessed in giving to the world the images I carry around inside. The purpose of art, as far as I’m concerned, is to make the world a better place. This is the job of the artist, this is my role, and my life’s calling.”
I think we all have a little bit of Simon Bull in us. Even if we never pick up a paintbrush.
