Oh my goodness. What’s happening to me?
As many of you know, I fell in love with the work of Ira Progoff, the person who captured me with the power of intensive journaling. My curiosity could not stop. What made Ira so smart?
Ira was greatly influenced by the work of Carl Jung. This fact got me reading a book titled Jung’s Map of the Soul by Murray Stein. Surprisingly, I liked it and understood some of it. However, it’s still clear I don’t understand much about what’s rattling around in my brain.
What did I do next? I put a pen and paper by my bed. Every time I woke up, I started writing down immediately what I could remember about my dreams, even before using the bathroom (sometimes this is difficult for me, but that’s another story). Now I’m attempting to match my dreams with Jung’s soul mapping research. I’m getting totally lost in all of this but having a great time along the way.
Many of you may not wish to dive deep into your “psyche,” but for those who do, I think you will find it fascinating stuff.
Bottom line: The older I get, the more curious I become about what makes me tick.
