In my silly mind, I’ve come up with a game for those 70 years and older. Individuals who are lucky enough to have no major health issues are disqualified from playing. Sorry, but I have no sympathy for you.
Those eligible all sit around this huge, black pain/disease pot. We throw in our personal health condition. If contestants are suffering from more than one, they choose the one that bugs them the most.
As host, I get to stir the pot and then instruct each participant to pull out a health condition. If they happen to choose their own, they throw it back and try again.
Now, for a full week, each player lives with their newly acquired pain/disease.
At the end of the week, we all gather around the black pot once again. For those more fond of their new health condition, they may keep it without reacquiring their old problem. Those who wish to trade back for their old condition may do so, but with a one survival year penalty.
At the end of the game, all participants hold hands and form a big circle. They sing “I Get Around” by The Beach Boys and promise never to complain about their pain and hurts to friends and relatives.
