I’ve started a number of corporations. One of my aspirational goals has been to receive funding from the government. If successful, it may have kept a few of my “great ideas” from going down the tubes.
So far, I have been a flop. Smarter people than me have figured out better ways of spending your tax dollars.
For example, Northeastern University in Boston received over $3 million to check out the anxiety and aggression patterns of hamsters. Scientists gave the little guys steroids to see if they would pick fights with each other.
The National Institute of Health invested $300,000 to discover whether little boys or girls played more with Barbie dolls. They could have just asked me. The research finding (surprise, surprise): girls.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not resentful or angry.
At 74 years of age, I just need to be more creative.
