“Why do you think your life is so remarkable that you need to write a blog about it?”
I receive many wonderful responses to my blog. Often, they come in the form of personal stories or points of view that are better written and more insightful than my original effort.
Occasionally, I get a response similar to the one above. I appreciate them as well.
In this case, I sent an email back thanking the reader for taking the time to share his point of view. I continued by saying that living an “unremarkable” life is the very reason I hope my blog has value to those who invest time in reading it. For me, I gain a sense of comfort in knowing many people experience the same fears, disappointments and exhilarations I do. It makes me feel connected and understood.
I asked this reader if he wanted to unsubscribe.
His answer? “Nope.”
