Dear friends,
A surprising number of you reached out last week, wondering what happened to my Tuesday blog post and if I was doing okay. I appreciate the concern.
I’m doing great and just decided to take a little vacation from Aging with Don Kuhl, planning to return March 11. I did get frustrated when it took me three hours to come up with a brief post that didn’t pass muster with my fabulous editor, Jenni. After well over 1,000 blogs, I think my creative juices for Aging with Don Kuhl overtook my daily life experiences. It’s like my caboose (blog ideas) got in front of my engine (life experiences).
Now, I’m soaking up the pleasure of doing nothing. Shockingly, I’ve found that, in retirement, there are no big responsibilities or chores that are demanded of me, only those I put on myself. I’m just hanging out with Sherry and our four shepherds, going back over the letters Mark Twain wrote to his brother Orion and taking naps whenever I choose. I’m feeling refreshed already and only a little bit guilty.
I hope to catch up with you on March 11.
Thanks,
Don
